What's New for Grantmakers

This month is all about moving money to nonprofits faster ahead of giving season.

Here's what's new:

EFA linking now built into CDA claiming: Nonprofits no longer complete a separate process to link their external financial account (EFA). It's now part of the same compliance process to open a Chariot Deposit Account* so they don’t need to re-submit documents they’ve already provided. One approval creates the CDA with the EFA already linked, so your grantees can transfer the funds you send from day one without any extra steps.
Earmarking priority disbursements: You can now “earmark” auto-funded disbursements to ensure that funds are reserved to execute them first. This is currently only available via API. Learn more here.
Edit your grant letter's closing note: You can now edit the closing note in your grant letter, and the PDF preview updates immediately when you save, so you can see exactly what your grantees will receive.
Download check images: Once a check you've sent is deposited, you can now download a copy directly from the disbursement page. Just click the new Check image link to get the front and back in a single JPEG.

New grantmakers through our Atrium Impact partnership: Welcome, Adair Family Foundation (TX) and Legacy Alive Foundation (TX), our newest grantmakers sending electronic payments through Chariot! Both are going live through our partnership with Atrium Impact, whose grants management system is rolling out Chariot to the private foundations it serves.

Scholarship gift disbursements: Our work on scholarship gift disbursements is underway. If you'd like to be a design partner, please reach out to jackm@givechariot.com.
New check vendor: Migration to our new check vendor is underway. Soon our mailed disbursements will arrive 1-2 days faster in most states, with stronger protections against check washing.
DAF Day 2026 results: Thank you so much for making October 8 our biggest DAF Day yet! In our end-of-year report, we'll share aggregated, anonymized results from DAF sponsors and nonprofits. If you haven't yet, please submit your DAF Day results by November 18 to be included.
